What commissioning managers said after the walkthrough

These notes name the study that was actually delivered. They are not marketplace stars. One of them records a genuine irritation with a remote walkthrough.

The study showed our weekday morning clinics were carrying two unfilled nurse posts by borrowing from the afternoon list. I had been arguing for ‘more recruitment’ in general; the report named the two posts and the months they had been empty. I still wish the walkthrough had been in person rather than on a call — the printed tables needed a finger on the page.

Tamar G. · HR lead, regional clinic group · Staffing Pattern Study

Saturday overtime was being treated as a badge. The reading laid the extra hours on the same week as the unfilled night slots. Finance stopped asking why we ‘liked’ overtime.

Levan M. · Site director, food packing hall · Coverage and Overtime Reading

We thought cashiers were leaving at a steady clip. The review split Christmas hires from the permanent floor and showed the December cohort leaving in February, which is a different conversation with store managers.

Ana K. · People partner, retail chain · Turnover Review

Last summer’s temps were hired two weeks late. The plan used last year’s arrival dates, not a wish. Housekeeping coverage in July finally matched the occupancy we already knew was coming.

Giorgi S. · Operations manager, guest house group · Seasonal Headcount Plan

Extended note: clinic nurse cover

A regional clinic group asked why weekday mornings felt short while the monthly headcount report still looked “fully staffed.” The Staffing Pattern Study used six months of rotas plus the vacancy log. Two nurse posts had been empty since late winter; afternoon lists were being raided each morning. The annex for finance named the posts and the months. Recruitment advertising was left to the client.

Extended note: packing-hall Saturdays

A food packing hall treated Saturday overtime as proof of commitment. The Coverage and Overtime Reading placed those hours on the same calendar as unfilled night slots. Once the hole was visible, the site director stopped defending overtime as a preference and opened a night vacancy that had sat unnamed in the files.
